How to get to Bonaire: flights, tourist tax and arrival
Non-stop flights to Bonaire from Miami, Atlanta, Houston and Amsterdam, the tourist tax you pay online before you fly, and what happens when you land.
From the United States. As of September 2026, American Airlines flies non-stop from Miami, Delta from Atlanta and United from Houston, with a seasonal United flight from Newark. From Canada, WestJet flies from Toronto in the winter season.
From Europe. KLM, TUI fly and Corendon fly non-stop from Amsterdam in about 9 hours and 25 minutes. From Germany and the rest of Europe, the usual route is a connection in Amsterdam. Short island flights also link Bonaire with Curaçao and Aruba.
Before you fly. Every visitor pays the tourist tax: $75 per person from age 13 and $10 for children up to 12. Pay it online from seven days before arrival, and only at tourismtax.bonairegov.com, because look-alike sites appear in search results. If you plan to swim, snorkel or dive, the STINAPA nature fee is a separate payment.
The car. You drive on the right on Bonaire, and the rental companies are at the airport and in Kralendijk. A car is the easiest way to reach the beaches, dive sites and Rincon, and we can arrange one to be ready when you land.
At the house. Flamingo International Airport lies just south of Kralendijk, so none of our houses is more than a short drive away. Someone meets you at the house, shows you around and hands over the keys. Check-in and check-out times are on rates and terms.
