Villa Papagayo does not sit on the water, and for a certain kind of stay that is an advantage. The house wraps around its own garden, which means shade, a large pool that nobody walks past, and quiet in the middle of the afternoon.
The ground floor has the open kitchen, an outdoor living room facing the garden, and one bedroom with its own bathroom. Upstairs is the main bedroom with a king bed and ensuite, plus two twin rooms sharing a bathroom. The terrace on the garden side looks out over the Caribbean at sunset.
Four bedrooms and room for eight, which makes this the most affordable of the large houses. Also a Piet Boon design, in wood, coral stone and natural rock.
