The Piet Boon design houses
Several of our houses were drawn by the Dutch designer Piet Boon. They share a material and a way of sitting on the land, and once you have seen one you recognize the others.
4 houses
The Piet Boon houses are built from the same two materials: teak and coral stone. The stone holds the cool through the afternoon, and the wood takes salt air without being made new every season.
Beyond the materials they share a way of handling the climate. The living space opens on the water side under a deep roof, so there is shade on the terrace at every hour of the day and the trade wind moves through the house rather than around it.
And there is the sightline. From the front door you look through the house and out over the water, and you have that same view from the kitchen and from the pool.
